DESCRIPTION:This is an inter-disciplinary seminar series which aims to br
 ing together researchers interested in broadening the understanding and 
 tackling some of the most pressing challenges faced by health systems gl
 obally.\n\nThe series provides a forum for interdisciplinary exchange\, 
 showcasing theoretical and empirical research\, policy analysis\, and im
 plementation insights from diverse regional\, disciplinary and methodolo
 gical perspectives.\n\nThis is a great opportunity to connect with colle
 agues from across the University who share an interest in health and hea

  Health at the University of Manchester\n\n“Childhood anaemia in rural M
 aya communities: universal screening and first-cycle outcomes from a clu
 ster maternal and child health program in Quintana Roo\, Mexico”\n\nThis
  seminar presents a cluster-based maternal and child health project impl
 emented with multiple actors\, including non-governmental organizations 
 and the regional Ministry of Health. The focus is childhood anaemia in r
 ural Maya communities in Quintana Roo\, Mexico.\n\nThe talk will present
  findings from universal anaemia screening across rural communities\, fo
 llowed by first-cycle outcomes from targeted prevention among children a
 t risk and treatment among children with anaemia. It will then discuss w
 hat these results suggest for program monitoring\, follow-up design\, an
 d regional scale-up within routine maternal and child health services.\n
 \nAbout the speaker: Dr Luis Martínez Juárez is a Lecturer in Global Hea
 lth at the University of Manchester. He holds a Master’s degree and a Ph
 D in Public Health. He is affiliated with the Center for Global Health E
 quity at the University of Michigan and the Center for Humanitarian Heal
 th at Johns Hopkins University. He is a medical doctor and global health
  researcher working at the intersection of community health delivery\, o
 perational research\, and health systems. He leads multi-actor research 
 partnerships in Mexico and Latin America focused on anemia\, nutrition\,
