DESCRIPTION:This is a reminder for our next seminar on Health and Health 
 Systems in the Global Context (HHSGC). This is an interdisciplinary semi
 nar series which aims to bring together researchers interested in broade
 ning the understanding and tackling some of the most pressing challenges
  faced by health systems globally. The series provides a forum for inter
 disciplinary exchange\, showcasing theoretical and empirical research\, 
 policy analysis\, and implementation insights from diverse regional\, di
 sciplinary and methodological perspectives. \n\nNext seminar:\n\nSpeaker

 w violence and North America’s overdose crisis\n\nDr. Ryan McNeil is an 
 Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Harm Reduction Research 
 at the Yale School of Medicine. His research examines how social\, struc
 tural\, and environmental forces shape risk and harm among people who us
 e drugs. His work focuses on harm reduction\, addiction treatment\, supe
 rvised consumption services\, housing and overdose prevention\, and appr
 oaches to managing stimulant use disorders. His foundational research on
  harm reduction approaches\, including supervised consumption services a
 nd safe supply\, has informed policy and practice as these interventions
  have expanded. He regularly provides expert advice to healthcare organi
 zations and governments on the development\, implementation\, and optimi
 zation of harm reduction and addiction treatment programmes. Committed t
 o the meaningful involvement of people who use drugs in all stages of th
 e research process\, he collaborates closely with community-based organi
 zations\, including peer-driven drug user\, sex worker\, and tenant righ
 ts groups\, to ensure that research is aligned with community priorities
