 \nRenée van Amerongen is professor of Stem Cell and Cancer Biology at th
 e University of Amsterdam\, where she chairs the Developmental\, Stem Ce
 ll and Cancer Biology group (DSCCB) at the Swammerdam Institute for Life
  Sciences and serves as program director of the bachelor Biomedical Scie
 nces. She is also an elected member of the organizing committee of the E
 uropean Network for Breast Development and Cancer labs and an editorial 
 board member of the Journal of Mammary Gland Biology and Neoplasia. Her 
 main research interests lie in the area of WNT signaling\, mammary gland
  biology and breast cancer research - building on her PhD and postdoc tr
 aining with Anton Berns at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Roel Nus
 se at Stanford University\, respectively. Her talk will cover the challe
 nges of translating findings between mouse and human model systems - hig
 hlighting her lab’s most recent publication in Cell Reports (on tissue-s
 pecific WNT gene regulation\, out this month) and unpublished work on th
 e involvement of WNT/CTNNB1 signaling in human breast cancer.\nhttps://v
