DESCRIPTION:The second in the Plants and Creative Practice online event s
eries\n\nThis second event in the Plants and Creative Practice webinar s
eries brings together Korean composer and eco-sonic artist Younje Cho (I
U\, Jacobs) and improviser\, artist and researcher Henry McPherson (UoM\
, Music)\, who will talk about how their praxis engages with and respond
s to more-than-human worlds.\n\nDrawing inspiration from nature and wild
life\, Cho bridges human experience with the natural world through what
he calls a "pan-natural" approach—an organic exploration of sound that r
eveals instincts shared across species. McPherson’s work explores human-
environment relationships through music and sonic art\, often inspired b
y plant ecosystems and woodland landscapes. His research looks at how im
provisation and ‘in the moment’ creativity can support our individual\,
collective\, and environmental wellbeing.\n\n\n\nThis event is only open
to staff and students from University of Manchester\, or Indiana Univer
sity Bloomington\n\n\n\nAbout the series: What do plants have to do with
creative work? How can creativity evolve through engagement with plantl
ife? Does partnering with plants change our understanding of ‘creativity
’ or reframe creative methods and processes? This webinar series from In
diana University’s Environmental Futures in the Arts and Humanities Init
iative and the University of Manchester’s Creative Manchester research p
latform explores Plants and Creative Practice through three dialogues be
tween researchers\, writers and artists based at these two universities.
Each session pairs creative/research practitioners in focused conversat
ions on how plant life shapes creative work across Poetry\, Sound\, and
Textile Arts to reflect upon how vegetal thinking can shape artistic pra
 ctice today.\n\n\n\nTimings\n\n5 - 6:15pm - Manchester\, UK (GMT)\n\n12
 - 1:15pm Bloomington\, Indiana (EDT)\n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\nThis is an
