DESCRIPTION:Please note that this Network is open to all schools who are 
 in FA1.\n\nSEERIH\, at The University of Manchester\, is a specialist hu
 b which supports teacher development.\n\nTo facilitate forward planning 
 in schools\, all three meetings are open to book now. Please book ticket
 s for the sessions you are able to attend. We encourage teachers attend 
 all sessions wherever possible\, in order to get the most out of the exp
 erience.\n\nThe network welcomes new and established primary science sub
 ject leaders of all experience levels to:\n\nshare and improve practice\
 nspeak with other subject leaders in your region about the issues that a
 re affecting each of you.\nengage in expert-led professional development
  inputs to support you with up-to-date issues\, skills and resources.\n\
 nAttending these termly networks is an interactive and practical way to 
 help you to:\ntackle the issues in your school's science curriculum\nsup
 port you in your role as a leader\nraise the profile of science\nimprove
  the outcomes for your pupils.\n\nExpectations of attending the network 
 include engaging with pre-course tasks/reading and submitting your respo
 nse to a gap task. This is a compulsory element of the network to ensure

 n and SEND in Primary Science\n\nHow can we make primary science truly i
 nclusive for all learners? In this SEERIH-led network session\, we will 
 explore practical approaches to supporting pupils with Special Education
 al Needs and Disabilities (SEND)\, with a strong focus on inclusive teac
 hing that enables every child to participate and succeed.\n\nWe will cov
 er:\n\nWhat inclusive science looks like in practice and how to remove c
 ommon barriers\nAdapting enquiries\, resources and classroom talk to sup
 port a wide range of needs\nSupporting vocabulary\, communication and en
 gagement in science\nMaintaining high expectations while meeting diverse
  learning needs\n\nYou will also have the chance to share ideas with col
 leagues and leave with simple\, effective strategies to take straight ba
 ck to your classroom.\n\nSuitable for subject leaders\, class teachers a

 does effective assessment in primary science look like? In this SEERIH-l
 ed network session\, we will explore key principles of assessment that s
 upport high-quality teaching and meaningful learning in science.\n\nWe w
 ill cover:\n\nThe purpose of assessment in primary science and what we s
 hould (and shouldn’t) be assessing\nApproaches to assessing both substan
 tive knowledge and working scientifically\nPractical strategies for form
 ative assessment in the classroom\nUsing assessment to inform teaching w
 ithout creating unnecessary workload\n\nYou will also have the opportuni
 ty to share practice with colleagues and reflect on your current approac
 h\, leaving with clear\, manageable strategies to strengthen assessment 
 in your setting.\n\nSuitable for subject leaders\, class teachers and an
 yone interested in developing effective primary science assessment.\n\nS
 ummer term meeting: TBC\n\nThe Power of Talk: Oracy for Deeper Learning 
 in Science\n\nHow can we use talk to deepen thinking and understanding i
 n primary science? In this SEERIH-led network session\, we will explore 
 the role of oracy in developing pupils’ scientific knowledge\, reasoning
  and confidence.\n\nWe will cover:\n\nThe importance of talk in learning
  science and supporting all learners\nStrategies to develop high-quality
  classroom dialogue and purposeful discussion\nSupporting pupils to use 
 scientific vocabulary accurately and confidently\nPractical approaches t
 o embedding oracy within enquiries and everyday teaching\n\nYou will als
 o have the opportunity to share ideas with colleagues and reflect on you
 r current practice\, leaving with simple\, effective strategies to enhan
 ce oracy in your science curriculum.\n\nSuitable for subject leaders\, c
