DESCRIPTION:The RSA 60th Anniversary workshop is organised by the RSA Nor
 thern Territorial Representatives:\n\nIgnazio Cabras\, North East Branch
 \nWill Eadson\, Yorkshire and Humberside Branch\nElvira Uyarra\, North W
 est Branch\n\nAs the UK rethinks its approach to industrial strategy and
  regional development\, there is growing interest in how innovation poli
 cy can support green and inclusive futures. Whether framed through missi
 on-led approaches\, place-based strategies\, or transformational innovat
 ion frameworks\, policymakers are increasingly challenged to design inno
 vation systems that deliver economic competitiveness while addressing so
 cial and ecological imperatives.\n\nAs part of the ‘Pan-Northern Branch’
  series\, this one-day workshop brings together leading academics\, poli
 cymakers\, and practitioners to explore how to navigate these complex de
 mands.\n\nThrough a mix of keynote talks and panel discussions\, we will
  explore:\n– The changing dynamics of central-local relations in UK inno
 vation policy\n\n– The practical challenges of delivering inclusive inno
 vation across diverse economic geographies\n– The evolving role of unive
 rsities and FE colleges as civic anchors and innovation enablers\n\nAs p
 art of the RSA’s Pan-Northern Branch series—and marking the 60th anniver
 saries of both the Regional Studies Association and Alliance Manchester 
 Business School—this event offers a platform to reflect on six decades o
 f regional studies scholarship while looking ahead to the role of innova
 tion in shaping more inclusive and sustainable regional futures.\n\nConf
