Celebrate International Women’s Day by joining us for an online panel discussion on how we can put equity into practice.
Take part in the online discussion: 2-3pm, Wednesday, 1 March.
As a collective, we need to understand the difference between equality and equity.
While equality may provide all genders with equal opportunities, such as providing women the right to vote, women may face more barriers to access these opportunities. This is where equity becomes important. Equity involves giving everyone what they need to be successful, it is not giving everyone the exact same thing.
It is important that we collectively embrace equity to allow us to achieve true gender equality in all aspects of education, work, and health.
