DESCRIPTION:Abstract: This study examines the formation of collaborative 
 networks in China’s music industry through BADHEAD\, a sub-label of Mode
 rn Sky\, one of the leading music companies headquartered in Beijing. Th
 e analysis focuses on two periods\, 1999–2008 and 2015–2023. It investig
 ates how participants’ regional origins shape role allocation in music p
 roduction and influence network formation. Multinomial logistic regressi
 on reveals systematic differences in role allocation between Beijing and
  non-Beijing participants\, which are particularly pronounced in the ear
 ly phase of the industry. Exponential Random Graph Models (ERGMs) indica
 te that roles predominantly held by Beijing participants facilitate coll
 aboration across both periods. The net effect of regional origin shows n
 o difference for network formation in the early phase\, whereas in the l
 ater phase\, being non-Beijing is more likely to form ties\, reflecting 
 broader structural changes in the industry. By examining how the effects
  of individual attributes on network formation vary across phases of soc
 ial and industrial change\, this study contributes to research on networ
 ks in cultural production and provides an initial step toward advancing 
 studies at the intersection of culture and social networks in the Chines
 e context.
