DESCRIPTION:Overview\nTeam-Based Learning (TBL) is an increasingly preval
ent form of teaching: over 3\,000 students are now learning through TBL
in FBMH\, and it is a dominant form of teaching in programmes such as Me
 dicine\, Optometry\, Dentistry\, Nursing\, and Biochemistry.\n\nThis ses
sion aligns with innovation\, inclusivity and pedagogic development. It
explores TBL as an innovative and structured approach to active learning
. It is inclusive in focusing on active participation\, accountability\,
and timely support for students. It supports pedagogic development by h
elping colleagues align TBL design\, facilitation and evaluation with le
arning outcomes\, engagement and effective teaching practice. \n\nThis s
ession:\n\n- supports colleagues in developing their understanding of TB
L as a structured approach to active learning.\n- explores the core prin
ciples of TBL\, the teaching contexts in which it is most effective\, an
d the practical considerations required for successful implementation an
d facilitation. \n- examines how the online platform LAMS can be used to
design and deliver TBL sessions\, and how its data visualisation featur
es can support evaluation of teaching materials and early identification
of students who may benefit from academic support. \n\nIntended Learnin
g Outcomes\n- Demonstrate an understanding of TBL principles and their i
mpact on student engagement and learning.\n\n- Identify what constitutes
best practice for implementation/facilitation and explain how this is i
ntegral to TBL\n\n- Explain how LAMs (Learning Activity Management Syste
 m) can be used to design and deliver TBL sessions effectively.\n\n- Desc
ribe how LAMS' data visualisation features can help improve teaching mat
erials and identify students who may require academic intervention.\n \n
