DESCRIPTION:Please note that this Network is open to all schools who are 
 in Trafford.\n\nSEERIH\, at The University of Manchester\, is a speciali
 st hub which supports teacher development.\n\nTo facilitate forward plan
 ning in schools\, all three meetings are open to book now. Please book t
 ickets for the sessions you are able to attend. We encourage teachers at
 tend all sessions wherever possible\, in order to get the most out of th
 e experience.\n\nThe network welcomes new and established primary scienc
 e subject leaders of all experience levels to:\n- share and improve prac
 tice\n- speak with other subject leaders in your region about the issues
  that are affecting each of you.\n- engage in expert-led professional de
 velopment inputs to support you with up-to-date issues\, skills and reso
 urces.\n\nAttending these termly networks is an interactive and practica
 l way to help you to:\n- tackle the issues in your school's science curr
 iculum\n- support you in your role as a leader\n- raise the profile of s
 cience\n- improve the outcomes for your pupils.\n\nExpectations of atten
 ding the network include engaging with pre-course tasks/reading and subm
 itting your response to a gap task. This is a compulsory element of the

 nEvery Child a Scientist: Inclusion and SEND in Primary Science\n\nHow c
 an we make primary science truly inclusive for all learners? In this SEE
 RIH-led network session\, we will explore practical approaches to suppor
 ting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)\, wit
 h a strong focus on inclusive teaching that enables every child to parti
 cipate and succeed.\n\nWe will cover:\n- What inclusive science looks li
 ke in practice and how to remove common barriers\n- Adapting enquiries\,
  resources and classroom talk to support a wide range of needs\n- Suppor
 ting vocabulary\, communication and engagement in science\n- Maintaining
  high expectations while meeting diverse learning needs\n\nYou will also
  have the chance to share ideas with colleagues and leave with simple\, 
 effective strategies to take straight back to your classroom.\nSuitable

 hat does effective assessment in primary science look like? In this SEER
 IH-led network session\, we will explore key principles of assessment th
 at support high-quality teaching and meaningful learning in science.\n\n
 We will cover:\n- The purpose of assessment in primary science and what 
 we should (and shouldn’t) be assessing\n- Approaches to assessing both s
 ubstantive knowledge and working scientifically\n- Practical strategies 
 for formative assessment in the classroom\n- Using assessment to inform 
 teaching without creating unnecessary workload\n\nYou will also have the
  opportunity to share practice with colleagues and reflect on your curre
 nt approach\, leaving with clear\, manageable strategies to strengthen a

 nThe Power of Talk: Oracy for Deeper Learning in Science\n\nHow can we u
 se talk to deepen thinking and understanding in primary science? In this
  SEERIH-led network session\, we will explore the role of oracy in devel
 oping pupils’ scientific knowledge\, reasoning and confidence.\n\nWe wil
 l cover:\n- The importance of talk in learning science and supporting al
 l learners\n- Strategies to develop high-quality classroom dialogue and 
 purposeful discussion\n- Supporting pupils to use scientific vocabulary 
 accurately and confidently\n- Practical approaches to embedding oracy wi
 thin enquiries and everyday teaching\n\nYou will also have the opportuni
 ty to share ideas with colleagues and reflect on your current practice\,
  leaving with simple\, effective strategies to enhance oracy in your sci
