DESCRIPTION:Did you know that qualitative and mixed methods data can be a
 ccessed for research?\n\nThe UK Data Service provides access to a range 
 of qualitative and mixed-methods data\, including ethnographic data and 
 field notes\, images\, oral history transcripts\, and essay responses. T
 his workshop will help you get started searching for qualitative and mix
 ed methods data with new search tools\, like QualiBank\, and help you qu
 ickly navigate through datasets to see if it's the right data for your p
 roject.\n\nThis free introductory workshop is intended for anyone who wa
 nts to learn about the qualitative or mixed-methods data available from 
 the UK Data Service.\n\nThe workshop will cover:\n\nthe types of qualita
 tive data available from the UK Data Service\na short case study exempli
 fying how qualitative data has been used\n3 key issues to consider when 
 using searching for qualitative data\nhow to access the data and getting
  further help\nPresenter: Maureen Haaker\, UK Data Service. Maureen has 
 worked with the UK Data Service for over 12 years supporting researchers
  and institutions in managing\, preserving\, and sharing qualitative dat
 a ethically and effectively. She runs training sessions on research data
  management\, advises on best practices in data curation and anonymisati
 on\, and has worked on special projects\, including a UKRI-funded projec
 t exploring uses of synthetic data in Trusted Research Environments (TRE
 s). She is co-editor of the IASSIST Qualitative Data Special Interest Gr
 oup and a member of the DDI Working Group developing metadata standards
