Cosey Fanni Tutti & Jon Savage (part of Manchester Literature Festival 2022) CANCELLED
What do performance artist Cosey Fanni Tutti, pioneering electronic musician Delia Derbyshire and medieval mystic Margery Kempe have in common? Join Cosey and Jon Savage as they discuss her connections to the creator of the Doctor Who theme and the writer of the first autobiography in the English language. Three unconventional women, described by Cosey as ‘Untameable spirits, progressive thinkers living within the inherent social attitudes of our times but finding ways to circumvent them in our pursuit of selfdom’.
Cosey is a founding member of the hugely influential avant-garde band Throbbing Gristle and one half of electronic pioneers Chris and Cosey. Her first book, Art Sex Music, was a Sunday Times, Telegraph, Rough Trade, Pitchfork and Uncut Book of the Year, and her new book is Re-Sisters. Jon Savage is a cultural commentator, journalist and the author of numerous books on popular culture, including England’s Dreaming: Sex Pistols and Punk Rock.
We are sorry to announce that due to hospitalisation, Cosey's forthcoming event at Manchester Literature Festival is being postponed to be rescheduled at a later date. Quaytickets will be in touch with all customers and we will confirm as soon as we have a new date scheduled.
