DESCRIPTION:The Behaviour Change Meeting Group at The University of Manch
 ester has the purpose of bringing together academics and clinicians acro
 ss several institutes who are working with behaviour change\, interventi
 on development and/or implementation theory. We usually meet online on t
 he first Thursday of the month at 3pm\, inviting external speakers and i
 nternal speakers to discuss and gain feedback on their latest research i
 n the field. We have a range of health and clinical psychologists in the
  group as well as epidemiologists\, nurses and physiotherapists who work
  with a range of different short-term and long-term conditions in differ
 ent contexts (public\, patient and healthcare professional groups).\n\nI

 ly 2026 at 3pm</b> \, where we have <b>Dr Abby Moffat</b> from Birmingha
 m City Council presenting on <b>‘Embedding Behavioural Science in Local 
 Authority Public Health: Influences\, Implementation\, and Future Direct
 ions’.</b>\n\nAbby Moffat is a behavioural scientist and trainee Health 
 Psychologist who has worked in local authority public health for the pas
 t six years. She currently leads the Behavioural Science Service at Birm
 ingham City Council\, where she supports teams in understanding and appl
 ying behavioural science to public health policy\, interventions\, and s
 ervices. Her work also focuses on supporting behaviour change and implem
 entation at organisational and system levels.\nAbby completed her PhD ea
 rlier this year\, which explored how behavioural science can be successf
 ully embedded within local authority public health. Her research examine
 d how behavioural science is used across local authorities\, identified 
 key influences on its implementation\, and developed practical recommend
 ations to support its adoption. She now applies these insights to streng
 then the use of behavioural science across public health practice.\n\n[h
