An overview from the burns research lab
Burns are a global problem recognised as a major area of concern by the WHO. It has taken a long time to recognise that burn wounds are different from incisional wounds, excisional wounds and other forms of trauma. Despite advances in burn care, there remain clinical challenges in the management of burns.
This seminar will be an overview of the burn research we are involved with, both in understanding the basic pathophysiology of burn wound healing and scarring and pre-clinical investigations of modulators of burn wound healing and scarring. We hope to open up new areas of collaboration for the future.
