DESCRIPTION:Hong Duong (University of Birmingham) will speak at the Proba
 bility seminar.\n\nTitle: Ergodicity and asymptotic limits for the gener
 alized/relativistic Langevin dynamics\n\nAbstract: We consider systems o
 f stochastically interacting particles governed by the generalized/relat
 ivistic Langevin dynamics in the presence of singular repulsive interact
 ing forces\, with additive/multiplicative noises. For each system\, we e
 stablish a rate of convergence toward the unique invariant probability m
 easure\, which relies on novel construction of Lyapunov functions. We al
 so study asymptotic limits of these systems when passing to the limit th
 e interested parameters (e.g.\, the small-mass limit\, the white-noise l
 imit  and Newtonian limit). This talk is based on joint works with H. D.
  Nguyen (University of Tennessee)\, W. Tao and E. Baker (University of B
 irmingham).
