Part of the Manchester Science Festival 2014
An innovative and thought-provoking exhibition that explores the space where art, medicine, health, and technology meet. Collaboratively curated by The Museum of Medicine and Health and Anatomy Projects, the exhibition contains selected artefacts from the University of Manchester's Medicine and Health collections and showcases a project wih hearibg-loss participants, Silence of the Photograph. Anatomy Projects' beautiful portrait photography, taken with a Victorian camera, creates a linking thread between lived experiences of medicine and its technologies and artefacts.
Exhibition curated by Dr Jenna C Ashton. With thanks to the Museum of Medicine and Health, School of Arts and Language s and Cultures, to the 26 hearing loss participants, Sheila Fidler an students on the Audiology Healthcase Science BSc, Dept of Human Communiction and Deafness at the University of Manchester and MIRIAD at Manchester Metropolitan University.
