DESCRIPTION:Title: Character sheaves and their restriction to mixed conju
gacy classes.\n\nAbstract: Introduced by Lusztig in the eighties\, chara
cter sheaves are the geometrical counterpart of irreducible representati
ons of finite groups of Lie type. Defined over algebraic groups\, they a
llow us to use geometrical tools to deduce information on the characters
of the associated finite groups. In this talk\, I'll recall the definit
ion of character sheaves before explaining how to compute their restrict
ion to conjugacy classes (to some extent). This work was part of my PhD
thesis under the supervision of Olivier Dudas and Gunter Malle.
