 equalities\n\nWe are excited to announce this year's Healthier Futures A
 nnual Lecture\, featuring Professor Clare Bambra\, one of the leading UK
  voices on health inequalities. Join us for what promises to be an engag
 ing lecture\, followed by an informal drinks and canapes reception and a
 n opportunity to chat with colleagues and friends.\n\nDrawing upon her a
 cclaimed book\, 'Getting Better: The Policy and Politics of Reducing Hea
 lth Inequalities'\, Professor Bambra will address the urgent and growing
  crisis of social inequalities in health. By examining powerful historic
 al case studies from around the world\, including the US Great Society\,
  German reunification\, and democratisation in Brazil\, she will documen
 t how population-level reductions in health inequalities have been achie
 ved.\n\nClare is Professor of Public Health at Newcastle University and 
 Co-Director of Health Equity North. She is a leading voice in the area o
 f health inequalities research and has contributed extensively to the po
 licy and research dimensions of health equity.\n\nThis event is open to
