 achers.\n\nSocial science research makes a difference\; it is the study 
 of society and the manner in which people behave and influence the world
 . Social Science affects us all everyday - at school\, at work and in wi
 thin our communities.\n\nThrough this free one-day event aimed at Greate
 r Manchester secondary school students (future social scientists)\, the 
 Research Centre for Applied Social Science (RCASS) at MMU will provide a
  platform to debate and discuss social sciences issues. It will offer a 
 fascinating insight into social science research undertaken at MMU and h
 ow it impacts on for example\, governments\, local authorities and schoo
 ls.\n\nParticipation is at the heart of the event and students will part
 icipate in interactive workshops\, spanning subjects including:\n• socio
 logy\n• criminology\n• human geography\n• infocomms\n\nWorkshops will in
 clude (amongst others):\n• young people’s use of video games\n• online i
 dentity\, privacy and safety\n• impact of lighting on space and place\n•
