A presentation will be given by Fred Mosselmans from Diamond Light Source entitled:
‘How electrons begetting photons that energise electrons leaving other
electrons upset enough to produce more photons is aiding our
understanding of the future behaviour of nuclear waste
and other stories.’
Following the presentation there will be opportunity for questions/discussion and light refreshments will be available afterwards.
Fred Mosselmans is Principal Beamline Scientist on the Microfocus Spectroscopy beamline I18, and a visiting professor at the University of Kent, School of Physical Sciences and a visiting lecturer at the University of Oxford. His main scientific interests lie is the development and application of X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy, particularly with regard to Environmental Science research. He is currently serving on beamtime review panels at the Swiss Light Source and Elettra.
