 , and Automated Reasoning\n\nAbstract: Description Logics have been deve
 loped for knowledge representation and reasoning\, and form the logical 
 basis of modern ontology languages. In this talk\, I will give a brief o
 verview of Description Logics\, describe their relationship with Modal a
 nd First Order Predicate Logic\, and then talk about automated reasoning
  problems and algorithms\, with a focus on modularity (a notion closely 
 related to conservative extensions).
