 llbeing of children and adolescents because of the potential for poor li
 festyle and life experiences to impact on their potential to achieve hea
 lthy and happy adult lives\, and avoid chronic physical and mental healt
 h issues.  Schools have therefore increasingly become charged with a key
  role in promoting child health and wellbeing\, and so the need for expe
 rtise in school based research to provide information on ‘what works’ is

 on/ Manchester Institute of Education] is actively in child health and w
 ellbeing research. On Monday 2nd February 2015 they will present a selec
 tion of findings from a range of recent projects and share experiences o
 f conducting research with and in schools. \n\nProfessor Alan Dyson will
  give a keynote lecture on child health inequalities arising from his in
 volvement in the Marmot report and four studies on child wellbeing and t
 he role of schools will be shared. A further keynote on the importance o
 f researching the implementation of interventions will be given by Dr An
 n Lendrum\, followed by three presentations on research practice with sc
 hool settings\, including conducting RCTs with schools\, researching chi
 ldren and working with teachers in school settings. A final discussion w
 ill explore the opportunities for funding and collaboration in relation 
 to research aiming to promote child health and wellbeing in school setti
