Open Lecture on the work of a Shadow Minister with Lucy Powell (MP)
Policy@Manchester and the Parliamentary Outreach Service present the Lucy Powell (MP for Manchester Central) open Lecture on the work of a Shadow Minister, at the University of Manchester.
The official opposition party appoints MPs and Members of the House of Lords to 'shadow' government ministers, in order to scrutinise the work of government. The lecture will provide insight into that shadowing role.
Lucy Powell was elected MP for Manchester Central on 15 November 2012. She served as Shadow Minister for Education from 2013 to 2014 and is currently Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office. Prior to entering Parliament, Lucy worked for the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA)
This Open Lecture will take place from 11:00 to 12:30 on Friday 13 February, with refreshments upon arrival, at: Lecture Theatre 2 (Ground Floor), Crawford House, University of Manchester.
