DESCRIPTION:The University of Manchester Gateway Programme provides a new
  opportunity for Year 7-11 learners within Greater Manchester to partici
 pate in a coherent series of academic enrichment and Higher Education aw
 areness activities.\n\nThe Y10 Exploration Visit is an opportunity for l
 earners to realistically consider their future options. A ‘Researching Y
 our Future Options’ workshop gives learners an introduction to the resea
 rch process through thinking about their own options at age 16-18 and 18
 /19+. During the afternoon learners are given the opportunity to choose 
 one of three workshops based in the Manchester Museum focussing on the t
 heme of ‘identity’ in relation to biology\, creative art or social scien
 ces. At the end of the day learners take part in a Q&A session with curr
 ent undergraduates to find out more about university life.\n
