The launch event will highlight IMID BioResource progress, include NIHR BioResource achievements and plans for the future.
NIHR BioResource
The NIHR BioResoure is a recallable resource of over 150,000 patients from a variety of common and rare diseases, and healthy volunteers. The BioResource provides access to these participants making research and development more efficient. With a single consent, repository and database, the BioResource samples and data have been developed to accelerate discovery in disease research. IMID BioResource is one of the common disease cohorts in the NIHR BioResource
NIHR IMID BioResource
The IMID (Immune Mediated Inflammatory Diseases) BioResource recruits patients with IMIDs including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and connective tissue diseases. Both samples and data are collected and are held by the NIHR BioResource. IMID BioResource offers the advantage of a recallable resource to validate the discovery and delineation of novel and shared pathways and to facilitate planning of precision medicine interventions. IMID BioResource is a collaboration of northern NIHR Biomedical Research Centres – Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle, with Manchester being the lead site.
