 ar on "Priorities for UK adaptation to climate change" by Professor Rich
 ard Betts MBE.\n \nHow unprepared is the UK for a changing climate?\n\nT
 he UK is extremely poorly prepared for climate change. This is the concl
 usion of the 3rd Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA3) published in 202
 1\, based on a comprehensive study of numerous current and potential cli
 mate change impacts and the extent of adaptation plans. CCRA3 assessed t
 he magnitude of UK climate risks (and a few opportunities) and the urgen
 cy of adaptation in the categories of Natural Environment and Assets\; I
 nfrastructure\; Health\, Communities and Built Environment\; Business an
 d Industry\; and International Dimensions. The overall conclusion was th
 at there are substantial shortfalls in adaptation across all sectors. Th
 is talk describes the methodology for assessing risk magnitude and adapt
 ation urgency\, discusses the results and conclusions across the risk ca
 tegories\, and provides some thoughts on research needs to inform future
