DESCRIPTION:This event is part of CIDRAL's regular Theory Intensives seri
 es.\n\nDr Fabio Camilletti (University of Warwick) will run a seminar on
  the work of Simone Weil entitled 'Intellectual Action as Scandal: The L
 ibertarian Legacy of Simone Weil and the Limits of the Rhetorics of Safe
 ty'. The seminar will focus on Weil's 'Réflexions sur les causes de la l
 iberté et de l'oppression sociale' (1934)\, in the English translation a
 vailable in 'Oppression and Liberty'. There will be a short introductory
  lecture on Weil followed by time for discussion. \n\nDr Fabio Camillett
 i is an Associate Professor in the School of Modern Languages and Cultur
 es at the University of Warwick\, where he specialises in nineteenth-cen
 tury literature and culture from a comparative perspective (Italy\, Engl
