 g at The University of Manchester are delighted to bring to Manchester a
  unique and exciting poetry event\, showcasing the best in modern and co
 ntemporary Irish language poetry and poetry in bi-lingual Irish-English 
 translation.\n\nOn Saturday 13 May at 6pm\, we look forward to welcoming
  Louis De Paor to launch a dynamic\, engaging and wide-ranging poetry co
 llection\, De Paor’s anthology\, Leabhar Na hAthghabhála: Poems of Repos
 session (Bloodaxe Books\, 2016) This event will be introduced and chaire
 d by John McAuliffe (Centre for New Writing). De Paor will be joined in 
 his reading by some of the collections' translators - Vona Groarke\, Joh
 n McAuliffe and Billy Ramsell.\n\nIn Poems of Repossession\, editor ‘Lou
 is de Paor brings together more than 160 poems in both Irish and English
  – more than 500 pages of poetry from the past century\, much of the tra
 nslation newly commissioned’ into ‘a terrific open anthology’ (John McAu
 liffe\, The Irish Times) with some great modern and contemporary surpris
 es and the full century of poetry in Irish and English translation duly 
 represented.\n\nThe Centre for New Writing warmly acknowledges the fundi
 ng support of Culture Ireland in delivering this event. The Irish Diaspo
 ra Foundation at the Irish World Heritage Centre would also like to ackn
