  3. hear from our invited speak er – Dr Vicki Gold\, an Associate Professor at the Living Systems Instit ute\, University of Exeter\, specialising in cryo-electron microscopy of large molecular machines spanning both eukaryotic and prokaryotic biolo gy. By integrating both single-particle cryo-electron microscopy\, cryo- tomography and molecular modelling\, Vicki has made significant contribu tions to our understanding of bacterial motility driven by bacterial typ e IV pili\, which will be the focus of her presentation

\n\nEach theme is led by both an aca demic and technologist expert and brings together the relevant technolog y platforms with academic users to maximise how the technology platforms can support the academic research community\, develop new technologies and underpin interdisciplinary work. \n\nThe themes will each host a sho wcase event to highlight the work they currently support and provide a f orum for academics and technologists to network over the latest technolo gical and methodological advances within the theme remit.
