DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Centre for Criminology and Criminal Justice 
 and Illicit Markets Research Group\, this lecture presents the first res
 ults from a recently completed survey of incarcerated and non-incarcerat
 ed individuals who had experiences in acquiring illegal firearms in Queb
 ec over the past twenty years. By examining these networks of illegal fi
 rearm access at the individual level\, we are able to arrive at an under
 standing of the competitive level and structure of the general. Past res
 earch has demonstrated that individual is determined the\nshape of a per
 son’s social network. Results from the research describe how the demand 
 for guns is structured in Quebec’s strictly controlled firearm market.\n
