Neurodiversity refers to the diverse ways brains process information, with 1 in 7 people in the UK having some form of neurodivergence.
This workshop is an opportunity to hear from neurodivergent role models, learn how to make the most of your time at university and leave with practical insights to enhance your professional skills. Whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur, looking to connect with peers or gain new tools for personal development, this workshop is designed for you.
Jamie-Lee Wainman:
Our guest speaker is Jamie-Lee Wainman, a neurodivergent and disabled creative facilitator who graduated from university in 2021 and now runs her own business. She aims to create inclusive learning experiences through playful and creative thinking processes, and she uses her neurodiversity to develop new and innovative ways of learning. She will share her experiences, and you will also have the opportunity to ask questions and have a one-on-one discussion with Jamie-Lee after the workshop.
Her workshop will cover the following areas:
- Neurodivergent accessible icebreaker
- A short talk about Jamie-Lee’s Career Journey
- Discussing accessibility in the workplace, boundaries and well-being.
- The value of niche interests
- Highlighting your excellence
After this, you will learn about the opportunities and support available to you at the University of Manchester.
