DESCRIPTION:This workshop is the first of two on ‘Introduction to Copyrig
 ht’. The first session focuses on copyright considerations in the contex
 t of publishing while the second session focusses on copyright issues in
  secondary data use.\n\nCopyright is an area of scholarly communications
  that affects every researcher at some stage of their academic career. E
 ngaging with copyright is therefore crucial to any involvement in both p
 ublishing and teaching\, affecting individuals\, and potentially the rep
 utation of the institution.\n\nThe first session will introduce attendee
 s to the brief origins of copyright with a focus on copyright considerat
 ions in both publishing and teaching. By the end of the session\, attend
 ees will have a better understanding of different terms and licences ava
 ilable for publishing in different formats.
