Events and processes have been the subject of philosophical study ever since event and process ontologies were proposed in the early twentieth century as a new way to systematise our ordinary opinions and science with philosophical theory. The philosophy of events and processes remains a lively topic across several areas of philosophy and various traditions.
This spring the Department of Philosophy hosts a free workshop on the philosophy of events and processes, broadly construed. Research presented at this workshop will draw from a variety of perspectives with diverse aims – from philosophy of language, philosophy of science, mind,
metaphysics, to history of philosophy.
