The “Gateway to Translation” (G2T) webinar series is a joint initiative between the University of Cambridge (Cambridge Academy of Therapeutic Sciences, CATS) and the University of Manchester (Translation Manchester). The aim of these monthly webinars is to stimulate the translation of research into the clinics by educating academics about trends, technologies and research in the commercial sphere and by facilitating collaborations between academia and the medtech, biotech and pharma industry sectors. Recordings from previous webinars are available on the Translation Manchester and CATS websites.

The next webinar of our G2T series will be on Wednesday 27th November from 2-3pm (via Zoom). Our guest speaker will be Dr Francesco De Rubertis- Co-founder and Partner at Medicxi. Medicxi is a European investment firm focused on the life sciences sector. Dr De Rubertis will be giving a talk titled “University Spin-Outs: a View from Venture Capital".

This event is targeted to all researchers with an interest in translating and commercialising their findings, potentially leading to University spin outs. Dr De Rubertis will provide insights on how Venture Capital firms see University research and spin outs as well as giving advice on how to best pitch your ideas and projects to venture capital firms. As well as hearing from De Rubertis there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions.
