DESCRIPTION:Following the AGM there will be an illustrated talk by Charle
 s Foster about the shopping habits of the Warburtons of Arley Hall in th
 e eighteenth century.  The archive at Arley Hall is extraordinarily deta
 iled about their purchases for the family and household.  \n \nTaking fo
 rty invoices and receipts from a collection of over six   thousand\, Cha
 rles Foster details the Warburtons' shopping locally\, regionally and na
 tionally.  He will take us to visit a little shop in Great Budworth and 
 then on to Knutsford where we visit the apothecary and butcher.  In Warr
 ington they purchased coal and in Northwich it was salt and timber.  In 
 Chester they purchased special items while Liverpool provided wine and M
 anchester offered cloth and cotton.  Then there was the delights on offe
 r in London.\n\nTea and cake will be served.
