m walks on Cayley graphs\n\nAbstract: A quantum walk on a graph is a mod
el originating from Physics that has been studied extensively in Quantum
Information Theory. In this context a qubit is a 2-dimensional complex
vector space. One considers a graph with a qubit assigned to each verte
x\, and interactions between qubits defined by the edges. Many questions
about the time evolution of states\, such as perfect state transfer\, c
an be analyzed using tools of algebraic graph theory. This talk will gi
ve a general introduction to this topic and discuss recent joint work wi
th Julien Sorci in which character theory is used to construct many exam
ples perfect state transfer in Cayley graphs of extraspecial 2-groups.\n
