Presented by Lynsey Warwick-Giles. Interviewing is an important part of the work that we do, but we also spend many hours observing formal meetings and ‘hanging out’ in the workplace. This kind of observation work is intense but extremely rewarding. Lynsey will show how observations bring an important dimension to organisational research. The researcher often finds that her fieldnotes from meetings bear little resemblance to official minutes of meetings. Lynsey will illustrate her presentation with findings from her PhD research in three CCGs.
