DESCRIPTION:Join us for an enlightening film screening and panel talk on 
 the healing benefits of psychedelic drugs. Part of the Criminology Depar
 tment Racial and Social Justice Seminar Series.\n\n\nPsychedelics in Sco
 tland is a film screening and panel discussion with Dr Anna Ross\, Unive
 rsity of Edinburgh\; Fiona Gilbertson\, Recovering Justice\; Dr Jake Haw
 thorn\, Scottish Psychedelic Research Group\; and Karen Llewellyn\, Fami
 lies Campaign for Change and Recovering Justice.\n\n\nAt our first event
 \, we will watch the 45 minute documentary film\, Psychedelics in Scotla
 nd\, produced by Drugreporter\, on the struggle to liberate psychedelic 
 medicine in Scotland. In the film\, people with lived experience provide
  testimony on the healing powers of psychedelic drugs. The screening wil
 l be followed by a discussion with a panel who appeared in the film. The
 y will talk about the value of psychedelics for healing a variety of con
 ditions\, the benefits of creating a space in which people can openly ta
 lk about their experiences with psychedelics\, and how we can change the
  narrative around psychedelic substances. Students will chair the panel 
 discussion and the audience will be invited to ask questions.
