 s were the first to perform the complete 17 quartets of Mieczyslaw Weinb
 erg\, here at the University in November 2009. Since then\, they have ta
 ken the cycle all over the world\, and while others have recorded the qu
 artets\, their CPO set remains the benchmark.\nIn the 1960s\, Weinberg’s
  dialogue with Shostakovich in the string quartet genre is at its most i
 ntense: from the symphonic scale of No. 10 to the faux-naïf tone of No. 
 11\, reaching fever-pitch with the total chromaticism and virtuoso viole
