SPEAKERS:
Leandro Valiati is a Senior Lecturer in Creative and Cultural Industries at the Institute for Cultural Practices. Leandro started his career in Brazil as a professor and policy advisor in Creative Industries and Economy of Culture, creating and leading the most representative policy-oriented academic centre on CCIs. In the past years, he has been working in academic positions and as board member in policy institutions in Spain, France and the UK. His research interests are Culture and Socioeconomic Development, Cultural Policy and Multidimensional Impact of Arts.
Pier Luigi Sacco is Professor of Cultural Economics, IULM University Milan; Co-Director of the Computational Human Behavior (CHuB) Lab of Bruno Kessler Foundation, Trento, and Senior Researcher, metaLAB (at) Harvard and Head of the Venice Office of the OECD. He has been the Special Adviser of the European Commissioner for Education and Culture, Tibor Navracsics. He is a member of the Europeana Research Advisory Board, of the Advisory Council for Research & Innovation of the Czech Republic, and of the Advisory Council of Creative Georgia. He works and consults internationally in the fields of culture-led local development, policy design and evaluation, and is often invited as keynote speaker in major cultural policy conferences worldwide.
Sofia Izquierdo Sanchez holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Economics within the Department of Economics at the University of Manchester. Her research interests include social and cultural economics, as well as applied microeconomics. After completing her PhD at Lancaster University in 2014, she worked as a lecturer in Media Economics at the University of East Anglia, Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Competition Policy, and Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Huddersfield. She joined the University of Manchester in 2022.
