DESCRIPTION:Outline\nThis course examines the fitting of models to predic
t a binary response variable from a mixture of binary and interval expla
natory variables\, using STATA software.\n\nThe approach is illustrated
using examples from a social science perspective\, including cases where
logistic regression models are used as a means of analysing tabular dat
a where one of the dimensions of the table is a two-category outcome var
iable.\n\nYou will also learn how to fit a logistic regression model\, a
nd how to interpret the results.\n\nObjectives\nAt the end of the course
participants should be able to:\nUnderstand the concepts of odds and od
ds ratios.\nGenerate odds for given contingency tables. \nUnderstand the
basic theory behind binary logistic regression. \nRun and interpret a l
ogistic regression model. \nInterpret Log Likelihoods to evaluate models
.\nChoose between different models.
