This workshop will explore notions of the 'digital humanities' from various perspectives: as a discrete academic discipline; as a set of computationally engaged practices, media, and models; and as the subject of cultural and technological critique. In a time of such rapid technological change, how can the digital help us reconceptualize the humanities, and our global responsibilities as humanists? The workshop will provide an introduction to readings by some key theorists in the field, and if time allows, an exploration of some specific digital resources tailored to the interests of the participants.
