DESCRIPTION:This course provides an introduction to the theory and method
s of quantitative data analysis of relationships between variables\, foc
ussing on the techniques of Chi-square tests\, correlation and linear re
gression.\n\nThe course will examine relationships between variables cov
ering:\nthe concept of statistical significance\nthe theory and executio
n of a simple chi square test for relationships between categorical vari
ables\nhow to test whether a relationship between two interval variables
exists using correlation\nhow to describe relationships between variabl
es using a statistical model based on linear regression methods\nthe use
of control variables to control for confounding variables\nthe interpre
tation of statistical results and their use in making research conclusio
ns.\n\nParticipants should have a basic familiarity with a statistical s
