This week's pure postgrad seminar will be given by Rose Wagstaffe at 3pm in Frank Adams 1.
Abstract:
Given a noncommutative ring R, the category of right R-modules and the category of left R-modules can be very different. Elementary duality of pp formulas is a way of connecting information about right and left modules over a fixed ring. In this talk I will give some examples to illustrate the difference between right and left modules over a fixed ring. I will then define elementary duality and briefly discuss how it can be interpreted in both a model theoretic and algebraic setting.
