Grandchildren of Hiroshima and the 70th Anniversary of the Atomic Bomb
August 6th 2015 marked the 70th anniversary of the USA’s atomic attack against the Japanese city of Hiroshima, which by the end of 1945 was responsible for the deaths of over 140,000 residents of that city. The bombing of Hiroshima was followed by the attack on Nagasaki three days later, and seventy years on in 2015 both cities commemorated their respective destruction. This paper focuses on one theatre project that was designed specifically for the 70th anniversary.
