The use of technology can provide an effective way to support active learning be it on a small scale through the use of voting or quizzes in individual units to much wider spread use across the curriculum. It is important that any educator considering delivering technology-enhanced learning and the digital environment also recognises the relationship with other aspects of the teaching and learning process. As such the Technology, Pedagogy, Content, Knowledge model (Mishra and Koehler, 2006) provides a useful framework for considering what we are trying to do and why technology can potentially enhance this process. But to do this technology needs to be accessible, easy to use and reusable.

This Masterclass has been designed to run using a flexible and tailored approach to meet individual participants’ needs. It will provide an introduction to the Technology, Pedagogy, Content, Knowledge (TPCK) model and how the teaching and learning experience might be supported by the use of different technologies. The Masterclass will enable participants to explore how they might effectively and appropriately integrate technology into the teaching and learning environment to support single teaching sessions or entire programmes.
Delegates will leave the masterclass with a good understanding of:
Identifying different ways technology can be used to support educators and learners.
How you might easily use technology to immediately support a single teaching session
How you might effectively and appropriately integrate technology into the teaching and learning environment to support a single teaching sessions or entire programmes.
