DESCRIPTION:Bookings are open for all three termly meetings of the SEERIH
  GM Open Primary Science Subject Leader Regional Network\n\nAutumn term 
 meeting: 23 November 2023\, 9:00-12:00\n\nSpring term meeting: 19 March 
 2024\, 9:00-12:00\n\nSummer term meeting: 4 July 2024\, 9:00-12:00\n\nTh
 e GM Open Network is for teachers in Greater Manchester who are not elig
 ible for another regional network. If you're based in Salford or Wigan t
 his is the Network for you. You may also attend if your school is not a 
 member of your local Network in Bolton\, Bury\, Manchester or Rochdale.\
 n\nWe're delighted that SEERIH's termly Primary Science Subject Leader R
 egional Networks are continuing for 2023-24. In order to facilitate forw
 ard planning in schools\, all three meetings are open to book now. Pleas
 e book tickets for the sessions you are able to attend. We encourage tea
 chers attend all sessions wherever possible\, in order to get the most o
 ut of the experience.\n\nThe Network welcomes new and established Primar
 y Science Subject Leaders of all experience levels to share and improve 
 practice\, providing a unique opportunity to speak with other Subject Le
 aders in your area about the issues that are affecting each of you. Expe
 rt-led professional development inputs will support you with up-to-date 
 issues\, skills and resources.\n\nExpectations of attending the network 
 include engaging with pre-course tasks/reading and submitting your respo
 nse to a Gap Task. This is a compulsory element of the network to ensure

 4\, 9:00-12:00\n\nTALK IN PRIMARY SCIENCE\n\nExplore the importance of e
 ncouraging pupil talk in primary science. With a lot of subject-specific
  vocabulary and abstract concepts\, you will understand the importance o
 f providing opportunities for dialogue.\n\nLinked to 'The 10 Key Issues 
 with Children's Learning in Primary Science in England'\n\nInspired by t
 he findings of The 10 Key Issues with Children's Learning in Primary Sci
 ence in England (Bianchi\, L.\, Whittaker\, C. and Poole\, A.\, 2020) re
 port\, SEERIH Subject Leader Networks explore the latest developments in
  primary science. The report presents classroom findings as seen through
  the eyes of primary science specialists to stimulate debate across all 
 parties committed to developing science in primary schools. It invites u
 s all to reflect upon the findings and to consider the implications to o
 ur area of activity or focus.\n\nAttending these termly Networks is an i
 nteractive and practical way help you to to tackle these issues in your 
 school and raise the profile of science.
