MRC DTP Keynote on the theme of Policy in Science with our keynote speaker, Joe Edwards, who is a Public Affairs Adviser from the Royal Society and former Deputy Head of the Whips Office for the Liberal Democrats.
Joe will give us an insight how researchers can effectively engage with developing policy conversation to ensure our government is equipped with the best available evidence.
We will also learn about the limited timelines in which policy makers operate, the competing interests they must juggle, and how the Royal Society works with the wider research community to feed into the policymaking process.
