This week's pure postgrad seminar will be given by Anja Meyer at 3pm in Frank Adams 1.
Abstract:
The talk will start with an overview on how homological algebra developed out of algebraic topology. Using this framework we continue on the central features of homological algebra, chain complexes and exactness, and finally see how we can define homology and cohomology on groups. An example will be given by the cyclic group.
