It is well known since the 80's that any group definable in an o-minimal expansion of the reals can be equipped with a Lie group structure. We can imagine the inverse question, when is a Lie group isomorphic to a group definable in such expansions? In 2016 Conversano, Onshuus and Starchenko gave a necessary and sufficient condition for a solvable Lie group to be isomorphic to a definable group. In this talk we propose to discuss the case where the Lie group is linear. If times allows it we will say a few words about the non-linear case.
